After a short hiatus, The English Show is back for another year of music, culture, news, interviews and letting you "know what's on the go" in Basel. Cultural events are somewhat curtailed by the resurgence of the coronavirus, but we are far from a lockdown as the year kicks off.

Smooth sounds of the 1970s and early 80s filled the airwaves emanating from The English Show at Radio X tonight. Our evening's musical theme: "Yacht Rock". The genre experienced something of a resurgence starting in 2020 and continues to this day.

American artist and sculptor Larry McLaughlin lives and works in France and the United States and has strong ties to Switzerland, often exhibiting in various parts of the country. McLaughlin began working in sculpture while studying at the University of California at Santa Cruz in the 1970s. Later he worked in London, painting and printmaking.
