Broadcast on:
9 November, 2021

This week's show was all about new music released in recent months as well as cultural events happening in and around Basel. Head to the Zirkus FahrAway on November 12th and 13th for circus fun; for music, check out Pink Floyd tribute band Crazy Diamond at the Z7 Pratteln on those same dates.

For more concerts, visit the Parterre One, where acts like James Gruntz, Gina Ete and Sam Himself will be playing this week; while the Atlantis is hosting legendary Basel band the Lombego Surfers on November 12th.

A wonderful November tradition in Basel and surrounding
areas is the Räbeliechtli‐Umzug (turnip lantern
procession), which takes place on Wednesday, November 11, to commemorate St. Martin’s Day. During the procession, children carry lanterns carved from turnips hanging by strings from a stick and lit with tea lights. Basel’s main procession, with about 1'500 children participating, takes place on November 11th at 18:45. The event starts at Münsterplatz with the singing of some traditional songs. The procession then sets off at 19:00 and wind its way through Rittergasse, Bäumleingasse, and Freie Strasse to the Marktplatz, where everybody will be treated to some hot tea.

For all your theatre needs, head to the Semi-Circle theatre group, who have a new autumn production coming up: «Twosomes», a series of short performances that explore relationships. The plays are directed by the alumni from the new 'Direct with Confidence' workshop. Performances are on November 19, 20, 21, 26 and 27, 2021.
