FC Lausanne defeated FC Basel 2-1

Over twenty-three thousand fans at St. Jakob Stadium witness a rare loss at home.

Both teams kept each other scoreless for 29 minutes. Then Lausanne’s Jeremy Manieres was called for a hands penalty, which gave Ricky van Wolfswinkel an opportunity to take a shot on goal.  Wolfswinkel’s shot rocketed past the goalie and gave FC Basel the 1-0 lead.

Lausanne answered back 14 minutes after halftime.  That was when Benjamin Kololli drew the match with an unassisted goal.

Lausanne took the lead for good 26 minutes later when Joel Geissmann scored a goal after an assist from Samuele Campos.

This loss keeps FC Basel in third place in the Super League Division.
