FC Basel defeated FC Sion 5 goals to 1.
Maerco Schneuwly put Sion on board with a goal after only three minutes into the first period. That would be the only goal for the visiting team.
Michael Lang drew the match for Basel, after a header assist from teammate Blas Riveros, at the 56 minute mark.
Mohamed Elyounoussi put Basel ahead with a goal one minute later thanks to an assist from Kevin Bua.
Renato Steffen increased the lead after a penalty shot 15 minutes later.
Bua was awarded a penalty shot four minutes later and made it count. He followed up with Basel’s fifth goal after an assist from Alexander Fransson.
FC Basel is currently in second place in the Super League Division.
