The Semi-Circle Basel Theater Group - Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike

The Semi-Circle is Basel's English language amateur theater group which has been staging plays and musicals for 45 years. Their upcoming autumn production is "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" by Christopher Durang. This broad American comedy is about adult siblings Vanya and Sonia who share a home in Pennsylvania, where they reflect on their life choices.

When their movie-star sister, Masha, arrives with younger boyfriend, Spike, old resentments flare up, eventually leading to threats to sell the house. Also on the scene are sassy maid Cassandra, who can predict the future, and a lovely young aspiring actress named Nina.
