Magical Cafe; Gadget Guru - Vegetable Crayons

Broadcast on:
27 April, 2021

Jannick Awcock from Magical Cafe joined us in the studio today. Magical Cafe is a special place where, in normal (non-Covid) times, children have fun and parents can relax. The Cafe offers drinks, cupcakes, cakes, ice creams, breakfast and lunch goodies, but is also a venue available for community-based social activities. Due to Covid, Magical Cafe has been closed, but Jannick continues to take orders for takeaway, cakes & cupcakes, and their famous brunch boxes on weekends. The terrace will be open on Mother's Day in May - make sure to check the Cafe's website for details. Jannick and her team have done an amazing job staying connected with their community and customers, making it easy to find information about their products, services and special offers via their social media channels on FaceBook and Instagram. Listen to the interview here.

On this month's Gadget Guru, Ian looks at Apple's announcement last week, and some of the concerns about their AirTags and revamped iMacs. On a completely different note, try a new creation from Japan for the younger people in your family who may not use crayons only for colouring in. The kickstarter campaign is here. Get the details here.

Our music theme was a tribute to composer Jim Steinman, who wrote hits for Meat Loaf, Barry Manilow, Bonnie Tyler and more. Power ballads this way, please! We played:

Jim Steinman - Bad for Good

Glee - Holding Out For A Hero

The Sisters of Mercy - More

Barry Manilow - Read 'Em And Weep

Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse of the Heart

Meat Loaf - I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)
