Now through September of 2018, the Chairish Photography Exhibition is being held at a local vintage and second-hand funiture shop, ecochair, which is located at Breisacherstrasse 66 in Kleinbasel. Shop founder, Kate Bottriell, teamed up with international phographer Howard Brundrett, who turned his focus on the chair. Chairish tells the stories of a series of people with their chairs. The exhibition is on display at ecochair. Visit ecochair.ch for the opening hours.

Basel School of Business students Virginia Chirishyan and Igor Balashov were in the studio to talk about their project "Giving Hope With Art".  In collaboration with the Krebsliga Beider Basel, the Project Management MBA students are bringing together artists from the around the world to raise money and awarenes for the services offered by the KLBB. The open house will run this Saturday, June 23, fom 12:00 - 5:00, with silent auctions, craft sales and information sessions throughout the event and all proceeds go to benefit the Cancer League.

Expat Cranio proprietor Shirley Hiscock was with the English Show team talking about the benefits of Craniosacral Therapy. You may not know about this form of therapy that emphasizes light touch and talk but its adherents and Shirley's clients swear by its benefits. As her blog explains, she helps turn mountains back into molehills.  Especially tuned to those dealing with the stresses of expat life, or cultural acclimation, Shirley's new studio will help you deal with panic attacks, sleep issues, pain and stress.

Last week Art Basel descended on the city taking over every quartier and the Messe Halle, bringing together the largest festival of the most prestigious and up-and-coming artists, gallerists and collectors. One of the more interesting annual activities at the art show is the Art Parcours, currently in its 8th year, which our intrepid reporter Ingrid Koning attended via the official walking tour. Ingrid reported on some of the 22 art works that were on display throughout the city center focused on this year's theme: artists' daily experiences.
