Faiz Kermani & Nicole Scoles, Kevin Richmond's Culture Round-Up, Give-Aways

Broadcast on:
21 April, 2015

Faiz Kermani and Nicole Scoles of the Basel English Book Sale, hosted by the Basel West Library, were with us tonight to fill us in on the details of this year's benefit. The event, now in its fourth year, is sponsored by the GGG Stadtbibliothek Basel West, Basel Chidlren's Trust, Centrepoint Basel, and The Anglican Church Basel. Bring and donate your gently used books to benefit the above organizations and enjoy the following special events:

Friday (Opening Night) 18:00 - 20:00 Apero Hosted by Centrepoint Basel

Saturday 10:30 Children's Story Time Hosted by Basel Children's Trust

The General Hours for the event are:

Friday April 24, 2015: 16:00 – 20:00

Saturday April 25, 2015: 10:00 – 17:00

Faiz has also written and published a new book titled "The Frog Who Loved Mathematics". A children's book that fosters interest in mathematics in a warm, friendly and interesting way. To find it, you can visit here or, of course, find Faiz and his book at the English Book sale this weekend.

Our Arts Correspondent Kevin Richmond gave us a Basel Culture Round-Up for April, summing up what's happening in the city in the next few weeks: from Phil Hayes & Christophe Jaquet's "Love & Happiness" at the Kaserne on 23rd and 24th of April to a workshop on Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Choreography on the 8th May at the studio semiramis. At the Theater Basel, you can see Ismael Lorenzo's photography exhibit "10 Years Photographs of Ballett Basel". There's also Mozart's Così fan tutte at the Theater; and the 7th May 2015 sees the start of the weekend-long Tanzfestival Basel, where there will be dance everywhere throughout the city. Listen to the round-up again here.
