Museums Night 2015, SBB Short Breaks

Broadcast on:
13 January, 2015

It's Museums Night 2015 this Friday - always a great event to wander around a museum or ten at 1 in the morning. We talked to Eva Keller of the Cultural Department Basel-Stadt, who is responsible for Museums Night. She told us what Museums Night is, where to go as a family, and how to get from museum to museum. There are guided tours in English, around 200 programmes and events (and that's aside from the actual museum exhibitions), food and drinks galore, and after parties. An event not to be missed! For those of you looking for short breaks in Switzerland, with or without snow, SBB Railaway has special offers for everyone. SBB's Thomas Lüscher told us about, for example, the Bernese Oberland Winter Special starting from CHF 179.- per person for 2 nights including breakfast and one dinner. For slightly milder climes, check out the Ticino “Dolce vita” Special. The Apart and children’s hotel Muchetta near Davos is recommended specially for families, as it offers childcare. For a four-star break, try the Eiger Selfness Hotel in Grindelwald, which you can then combine with a Snow’n’Rail offer Jungfrau Ski region, with a 20% discount on train ride and skipass. And finally: don't want to carry all that luggage yourself? There are door-to-door luggage services available. Listen to the interview again here.
