Maximo Park, Best Places To Eat in France - Pizzeria Puglia

Broadcast on:
26 August, 2014

Just before Maximo Park performed at the Open Air Basel 2014, Anna caught up with singer Paul Smith. He told us about recording in the band's hometown of Newcastle, his literary influences, and where he gets those hats. Listen to the full-length interview here.

Our food expert Sue Style came in to tell us about a restaurant just across the border in France that is well worth a visit. It's a little corner of Apulia in the depths of the Sundgau at the Pizzeria Puglia, run by a band of Pugliese brothers. Good pizzas from wood-fired oven, toothsome home-made pasta, excellent risotto (who says the folks south of Rome can’t do risotto?) and quaffable Italian wines by the glass or bottle. If you order the lasagne (pictured right) come hungry - it’s humungous but very delish. Always packed, so book.

Our music theme this week gave a taste of the upcoming 4-day ZURICH OPENAIR. We played Editors, Manic Street Preachers, Metronomy, Paolo Nutini, Röyksopp & Robyn, The 1975, The Bianca Story, White Lies and Woodkid.
