The Basel Children’s Trust (BCT) is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization which runs a wide variety of programmes and events to support its members as their children grow from bump to babe and beyond. English is the common language, but there are many nationalities represented in the current BCT membership, including Swiss. Margaret Oertig came into the studio to tell Joel about an upcoming event on January 21st on Early Years Education as well as her book Going Local, Your Guide to Swiss Schooling.

Our skiing expert Nic Oatridge talked to Kiwi about Wengen this week. Wengen is truly one of the world's greatest and oldest winter sports destinations underneath the mighty Eiger, Jungfrau and Mönch. The legendary mountain railways make this car-free village one of the most accessible resorts to get to, and the range of skiing, snowboarding and winter walking options is huge.

We're trying out a new segment: Swissgerman Phrase of the Week. This week's expression is "No eins, bitte!" ("another one, please!"). Say you're at a bar or restaurant and you want another drink, what do you do? You hold up your glass, point to it and say, "No eins, bitte!".

All this, and of course our usual features: news, sports, cultural events and lots of good music!
