Starting February 2019, private vehicles will no longer be allowed to pick-up or drop-off passengers directly in front of the terminal building at the Basel-Mulhouse EuroAirport.  The entire service road leading to the terminal buildings will be restricted to buses, taxis and rental cars.  Those hoping to help friends and family find their way to or from their flights will have the park the S2 parking lot, where additional free parking spaces will be designated for short-term parking.  Initially, a shuttle bus service will also be made available to connect the parking lot with the terminal.  Airport spokeswoman Viviane Gaskell mentioned two reasons for the changes: 1, expected increases in auto traffic corresponding with the growth of air traffic into and out of the airport; 2, the hope that such measures will increase the safety of people passing through the terminals.
