Germany may tighten border with France, Switzerland

The German government is considering reintroducing border controls with France and Switzerland to curb undocumented immigration, but after 20 years without, many businesses oppose the move.

Officials in Germany may be considering whether to reintroduce border controls on parts of their shared frontiers with Switzerland and France.

It is all part of the Ministry of the Interior's desire to get a tighter grip on migration into the country.

Police controls have already been re-established along parts of the Austrian border, but there may be resistance from businesses on both sides of the Rhine.
