Talib Kweli at Kaserne Basel - 29 November 2014

On a night of high expectations, Talib Kweli proved that real hip hop is still alive. We waited patiently while Kweli's warm-up rapper Niko Is pumped up the crowd. The atmosphere was perfect, as everybody knew what they were about to witness.

Talib Kweli started his show with a couple of hits - something that the audience was waiting to hear. You could really see that Talib takes his work seriously, as he kept the audience on their feet. The atmosphere and the music were in perfect harmony, which resulted in a wonderful concert.

Kweli later surprised his real fans by playing some songs off his collaboration album know as Blackstar with fellow Brooklyn rapper Mos Def. That was the moment that elevated the show from being good to being great. Talib Kweli made sure that everybody was either shaking their hips or bumping their heads.

The Kaserne (which is where the show took place) did a wonderful job of organising this event. At least 200 people packed the small concert hall where the gig took place.

After the concert, the organisers managed to have Kweli stick around for a while at the merchandise table, where you could buy shirts or albums or even talk to him and have your picture taken together.

All in all, this was a show that I will never forget.
