Did you know that Switzerland has around 65'000 kilometres of hiking trails? That's about 1.5 times the circumference of the earth! A huge number of municipalities and volunteer organisations maintain the hiking trails and offer hikes in all the cantons.

Our Arts Correspondent Kevin Richmond gave us a Basel Culture Round-Up, summing up what's happening in the city in the next few weeks: from the eco.naturkongress to Benjamin Britten's opera Rape of Lucretia; Mozart's Così fan tutte to Ballet Basel's productions; from an exhibition of Ismael Lorenzo's theatre photographs in the foyer of the theatre to the productions at the Kaserne.
