Slow-Up Basel-Dreiland 2017

Event Dates:
17 September, 2017 - 10:00

The Slow-Up Basel-Dreiland, as its name implies, causes all motorised traffic to be "slowed-up" as the streets on the circuit are only open for nonmotorised travel. You can take your bicycle, inline skates, scooter, skateboard, wave board or wheelchair, or just walk or jog along all or part of the over 60 km route through Basel as well as neighbouring areas in Switzerland, France and Germany, making this a terrific family-friendly event.

All roads on the circuit, including highways and rural roads, will be closed to car traffic from 10:00 - 17:00. This popular event, which is taking place for the 10th time, is absolutely free.

There will be first-aid stations, toilets, as well as many festive stops along the way where participants can get food, drinks, and free giveaway items.

Note that if you live along the route, you will need to move your car before 8:00 if you plan to use it that day!

The routes are one-way only, so plan your route such that it does not include doubling back on the same road you came on.
