FC Basel set the tone early in the match when Antonio DaSilva scored the first goal after 15 minutes of action.

Valentin Stocker, thanks to a great assist by Marco Streller, added the second goal for Basel only three minutes later.

It didn’t take long for St. Gallen to respond, as Daniel Imhof gave his team the first goal at the 20 minute mark.

Scott Chipperfield increased Basel’s lead by an assist from Valentin Stocker after 38 minutes.

St Gallen didn’t go away quietly however, as Moreno Costanzo scored the second goal for his team at the 81 minute mark.

However, St Gallen did themselves in shortly before time expired as Fernando De Souza accidentally scored on his own team.

This victory keeps FC Basel in second place of the Super League Division.
