We met fans from Canada, the UK, Switzerland, the Canary Islands, and Austria, who shared their impressions of Basel and what it was like inside the buzzing arena. It was a joyful, kitschy, sequin-sparkled night that brought the city together in true Eurovision spirit. Listen to Anna Wirz's report here.
Maria Nocera, Head of School at Ahead With English, stopped by to share insights about the school and its upcoming 20th anniversary. Since opening its doors, Ahead With English has offered after-school English classes for kids – from kindergarten through their teenage years – at its Therwil and Riehen locations, with adult lessons available on request. To celebrate two decades of teaching, the school is hosting a birthday party on Saturday, 24 May, from 12 to 2 pm in Therwil. Catch the full interview with Maria here.
Our music theme spanned eras and genres, but one thing tied it all together: every song kept it short – three minutes or less. We played:
ABBA - Waterloo
Soft Cell - Tainted Love
Green Day - Basket Case
The Vaccines - Norgaard
Halsey - Graveyard
Queen - Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon
Rina Sawayama - Comme Des Garçons (Like the Boys)
