Gargouille & Chimères Dance Event - Catherine Habasque

Broadcast on:
12 October, 2021

Choreographer, producer and dancer Catherine Habasque is the founder of Dancers For The World. This humanitarian organisation uses dance and performing arts in the field in camps, hospitals, and prisons to empower vulnerable people worldwide through dance. Dancers For The World also produces immersive and multidisciplinary productions. Their next production is called "Gargouille & Chimères" - "Gargouilles" are the gargoyles that spew rainwater from the roofs of the cathedrals (think Notre-Dame de Paris); and "Chimères" (chimeras) are mirages, illusions, imaginary worlds that can haunt us in dreams.

The production includes dance, opera, video and text to give you a 360 degree spectacle, with music from Miles Davis, Vivaldi, Saint-Saens und Georg Friedrich Händel. The unique atmosphere of the OffeneKirche Elisabethen provides the ideal setting for this immersive piece. The performance is on 22 October 2021 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are CHF 100.-, which includes wine; and 50.- for students. Catherine Habasque joined us in the studio to talk about the production.
