David P France is Artistic Director of the David P France Dance Company. David blends Modern, Jazz and Ballet, with Hip-Hop to create a truly unique style. Based in New York and Basel, the company has performed in the US and looks forward to staging an upcoming performance in Belgrade. David tells Ciarán why he thinks dance is "making a serious comeback" among young people. He offers a free upcoming dance workshop on Saturday March 20th from 10:30 to 12:00 at the You-Dance studio.

Vicki gives us a great place to steal away for lunch over the French border: the restaurant at the Hotel Tivoli in Huningue.

Harvard Neuroscientist Srini Pillay joins us to tell us how neuroscience can give us insights into being more effective in business. English Show contributor Andy Habermacher has arranged a conference in Zürich tomorrow with Dr. Pillay as one of three speakers. "Maximising Profit through Social Intellegence: What Neuroscience Tells Us" takes place at the Park Hyatt, Zürich from 3 to 7 pm.

Tonight a special show - We partner with World Radio Switzerland, in a live simulcast from the Mr. Pickwick pub on Steinenvorstadt in Basel.

Our own Greg Cotter teams up with Conor Lennon to co-host both the Wrap and The English Show sequentially. The Wrap is a daily drivetime show from 16:30 to 19:00 broadcast nationally on the DAB+ digital network and on satellite and cable. Tonight they make way for the English show at 18:30 and we broadcast together until 20:00.

Matt spoke with Ingrid DuPlain of the Metro Basel Association, a movement to drive a shared vision for the future of Basel. Metro Basel is a consortium af citizens and businesses whose goal is to support the entire Dreiländereck region by promoting quality of life for citizens, attracting knowledge workers from around the globe, and driving a thriving life sciences industry.

Rob Stuart stopped by for his monthly cinema review. Rob brings highlights of the BAFTA (BritishAssociation of Film & Television Awards) held in London last month. The glitterati provided a spectacular array of British acting, dancing, singing, editing, sound talent, according to Rob.

The star film that should make it here to Basel is the 60's romp called An Education directed by Lone Scherfig and cleverly played by the stylish starlet everyone's talking about, Carey Mulligan.

Other topics: a preview for the Orange Cinema , the Film Festival Freibourg and, of course, what's on at local cinemas now. Recomendations include the new musical Nine, Sherlock Holmes and The Ghost Writer.

Lory Bonavia, dance instructor at the Basel Tango Schule shares her enthusiasm for the Argentinian Tango with Maria and gives us all the low-down on the tango scene in Basel - where and when to practice and where to learn more about the Tango. If you're inclined to see just what its all about, try the introductory practice session every Monday at the school grounds in the Clarahof. Upcoming Tango events in Basel include the International Tango Festival during Easter, and a seminar by world masters of the Argentinian Tango Gustavo Naveira and Giselle Anne.

Amy interviewed Roy, who just returned from a long weekend at the 60th International Film Festival, the Berlinale. In spite of the sub-zero weather, there was plenty to do, including sampling the many film offerings, visiting world class museums on Museum Isle and the architecturally reknowned Jewish Museum, checking out the renovated Potsdamer Platz and enjoying great restaurants. Highly recommended are the Circus Hotel in the Mitte, part of former East Germany, the restaurants Dudu (Asian Fusion) and Rosa Caletta. (Jamaican). A vibrant city, Berlin is easily accessed from Basel by plane or train.

Matt speaks with Ann Allen, director of the medieval dance and music festival Nox Illuminata, from March 3-6th. There is nothing quite like it anyplace else in the world: a four day festival of the senses, with music from the middle ages to baroque with a twist of with modern hip hop beats, brasilian grooves and jazz harmonies.... add a splash of decadent decoration, some innovative staging, a glass of champagne or two and you have a pretty good idea of what Nox Illuminata is all about.

Delphine interviewed Patrick Brunner, a Salsa teacher from the Salsameneo Salsa school (Just Dance studios, Kuppel and Bar Rouge) in Basel. He told us all we need to know if we want to learn to dance salsa, where to go dancing around Basel - and why he's looking forward to the upcoming Swiss International Salsa festival Feb 26-28.

Things to do in Basel is a Facebook page founded by TES contributor Kevin Pollard – Kevin has moved on to Australia but the page remains and is prospering, with a fanbase of nearly 1700. Maria spoke tonight with Louise Haughton, Sagar Daddikar and Alison Burton, part of the 20-strong administration team that has kept the site vibrant and relevant - a clearinghouse for information about what's on in Basel. Andy Habermacher, our resident communications expert, came in to talk about the basics of communication. These cover ideas like sender and receiver and how our brains interpret language. The brain is ironically the biggest obstacle to communication because of its ability to distort, delete and generalise information. First steps to overcoming this are being very careful about making assumptions and using simple clear language to get your point across. Go to Andy's website for more information.

Jooce Garrett is an artist who lives and works in Basel. He has a new exhibition opening on March 4th at Centrepoint in the Lohnhof above Barfüsserplatz. The title of the exhibition is Ads, Nudes & Dancers and it includes artwork, drawings and portraits. Jooce has had a successful career as a commercial artist and now concentrates on figures and portrait work. The exhibition runs until the end of May.

Peter Meixner and his daughter Ella came in to talk about their project to raise money for Haiti. They have asked to students at the Swiss International School to write stories for a book, proceeds from the sale of which will go to relief work. Martin Holt from Basel Running Club and running coach Melanie Andrews spoke with Matt about the role of running in fitness training and how the Basel Dragons Running Club can help to support you in achieving your fitness goals.

James O'Shea is an English dancer set to participate in the performance "Brain Game" that opens in the Roxy in Birsfelden on 4th February. What's special about James? A train accident a decade ago took his legs at the age of 19. Look for him in the BBC programme "Dancing on Wheels" that starts on BBC3 on 11th February.

Rob Derham announces the lights of hope festival to kick off Rare Disease Day (English version)at the end of this month. Rob explains to Maria why Basel streets will be filled with candelight next Tuesday February 9.
