Dominique De Quervain is a Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Basel.  He is also an outspoken critic of the policies of the University, saying rules are inadequate to protect faculty, staff and the student body against Covid19 infection.  The professor took to Twitter to air his grievances saying,"As long as unvaccinated and untested students are admitted to lecture halls, [he] will not offer face-to-face lectures at the university".  His proposal is for all students to be required to provide a Covid19 vaccination certificate or proof of a negative Coronavirus test.  By taking his concerns to social media, he has received both praise and criticism.  Now word yet from the University with regard to changes in their attendance policies.

The Basel Football Arena, home to the FC Basel football team and affectionately known by locals as the "Joggeli" turned 20 years old recently.  On Monday evening, at the 66th annual meeting of the General Assembly of the St. Jakob Stadium Cooperative, plans were presented for remediating the aging elements of the building.  The big news coming out of the planning sessions was for a new meeting area intended to surround the outside of the arena with the hopes that it will attract more visitors and fans alike.  Dubbed "Stadium 2.0", the plans are now in a discussion phase, and implementation could begin as early as next year once financing has been secured.
