Jamiroquai opens the 2010 AVO Sessions Oct 22

The anticipated opening of the 2010 AVO session in Basel nearly didn’t happen as super cool Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay almost missed his flight. This man is a living legend and got a very posh Basel crowd up on their feet by singing old favourites such as ‘Cosmic girl’ along with a few tracks from his new album ‘Rock Dust Light Star’ which releases this week. Dressed in an Italian trimmed mandatory tracky top and of course a regal purple trilby which didn’t fall off despite serious dance moves, he was the business. I counted twelve ‘live’ tracks (no miming here) including an encore. This man is cooler than the Fonz and always will be despite him now reaching dare I say, his 40’s (looks 25 still).
