Welcome Tours for new residents
The Historical Museum Basel organises welcome tours of the Barfüsser Church for residents new to Basel - in English!
The Historical Museum Basel exhibits collections of local and European relevance such as the treasury of Basel Cathedral and items from the Amerbach Cabinet. The Barfüsser Church itself, a late Gothic structure built by a mendicant order of Franciscan monks and transformed into a museum in the late 1800s, is a mirror of Basel's changing past. Special guided tours provide residents who are new to the region with an insight into Basel's eventful history and its most important customs, sights and places of interest.
Tours for individuals and families are held from Tuesdays to Saturdays during opening hours (10 a.m. - 5 p.m.), by prior arrangement only. To book a tour, call:

Prices are available upon request. You can find a flyer with more information if you go onto the Historical Museum Basel website and under "NEWS", click on "Welcome-Führungen für neu nach Basel Zugezogene".
