Noohn...the expat Mecca......

Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights being the nights to be seen in the bar.  I have spent many a night in this smoky, noisy bar…..there is a certain buzz in the air and it’s always packed.  You might be left standing with your drink for sometime.  The drinks menu is formidable with a wide range of just about everything….cocktails seems to be a hot favorite at Noohn.  Dare I say it is this because the prosecco is often flat and I have had the odd sour glass of red wine.  Noohn can do better so if this happens to you then complain…I did and they sorted my drinks out.

Stay for dinner but remember to make a reservation as the restaurant is often booked out.  Noohn offers the option of a sushi bar and ala carte dining.  The food is Chinese/Thai/European fusion which is tasty and beautifully presented.  The atmostphere is great but I am not sure the food matches up to the place…..

Dinner will set you back around 90 CHF….in my opinion you pay through the nose for your trendy surroundings beacues this is not fine dining however, the sushi is always of top quality and they offer a takeaway service……..  Noohn is a big favorite in Basel but, will it become one of your favorites??
