Da Gianni`s the best pizza in town.....

This little gem of a restaurant in situated in Johannes on the Tram 11, get off at the St. Johannstor.  You could easily miss the restaurant as from the outside it seems nothing more than an old run down building but open the restaurants door and enter a bright, energetic restaurant with walls covered in art displays and hosted by group of comic Italian staff.

This restaurant has a traditional Italian menu with all the usual favorites.  Try a huge bruscettta with fresh mozzarella and basel leaves followed by some delicious pastas and risottos.  However, I go to Da giannis for one thing and one thing only…..I love there pizzas.

I always ask for a seat so that I can see my pizza being made and I look forward to seeing it coming out of the oven and towards my table.  The pizzas are huge and I can’t imagine how you could be disappointed with the fresh ingredient and great flavors on offer.  Can’t manage the whole thing? Never worry, they are always happy to wrap up your pizza to take away.

Service can be slow, the restaurant is really smokey and if you are not a fan of dogs, Da giannis is!!…..pets are welcome.

The restaurant isn’t open at lunchtime and I wouldn’t recommend it for kids as there are no child seats or child menus….this one is for adults only.

Cost about 60CHf for a meal…… I delight in the fact that waiting staff are emotional Italians and seem to be constantly bickering with each other they add to the ambiance of the restaurant.  Go for the show and the best pizza in town……
