Tea time at Le Trois Rois......
I was invited out recently to have tea at Les Trois Rois... as a birthday treat. I knew I was going to get something a bit special but would the experience live up to my expactations of this five star hotel.
I did have butterflies of excitement as I walked up the red carpet going into the lobby of the hotel. We took our tea and coffee in a salon overlooking the Rhine, admist beautiful surrounds. I felt very relaxed but for some reason so did the waiter,s as our service seemed a bit slow, maybe that's just the pace of life at Le Trois Rois there is no hussle and bussle?
High tea was on offer at 40CHF per head but we chose to order from the menu which included petit four, deserts and cheese.
I was treated to a caffe latte (7CHF) and Amy had a green tea (10CHF) and we shared a plate of cheese and biscuits (22CHF) and a bowl of stewed plums and cinnamon ice cream (20CHF). As they say, this wasn't just any food, this was Le Trois Food with Le Trois prices to match.
Amy and I decided that this was our favorite way to relax on a Saturday afternoon, listening to the salon pianist and watching the Rhine flow by.......how devine.
