The Duchess

The costume drama at the moment is The Duchess, directed by Saul Dibb and starring sumptuously dressed Keira Knightly, a nasty Ralph Fiennes and cold Charlotte Rampling. Its set in the mansions and shire gardens of England around the mid eighteenth century. Princess Georgina finds herself forced against her will to marry but not for love. With a young woman’s lust for life Georgina finds herself proud of her role as a political activist. However the more she is loved and admired by all who know and meet her the more her rich and famous country gentleman husband retreats from her.
