The Yellow Handkerchief

Produced by Arthur Cohn. Based on a short story by Peter Hamill premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. This is an independent drama version of Hankachi's 2008 Yoji Yamada.

A band of outsiders take to the highway. William Hurt plays Brett a petty criminal eager to turn his life around after spending six years in jail. Brett is looking for a ride home to Louisiana and happens upon a pair of teenagers up for a road trip.

Martine and Gordy are persuaded by Brett to give him a ride home and together the three misfits bond over their shared need for acceptance. Driving towards New Orleans that's been flooded by hurricane Katrina, Brett can't help but ponder the big question in his life, if his wife will take him back now that he's a free man.
