The Men Who Stare at Goats

Dir: Grant Heslov. This is a mad comedy about military madness, based on a novel by Jon Ronson, of the same name. It stars Ewan McGregor as Bob Wilton, a journalist in need of an adventure who in 2003 is in Kuwait. Hitching a lift into Iraq from Lyn Cassady played by George Clooney, a member of a secret, experimental branch of the US military trained in using psychic powers. Clooney’s Cassady is clever and as mad as a hatter, and so it turns out is everyone else in the film. The film is both funny and frightening as the scenes remind you of the crazy classic cold war movie with Peter Sellers's playing Dr. Strangelove and Group Captain Most critics panned the film and suggested it was a waste of good acting talent. The Cast that go mad in the desert are Ewan McGregor, George Clooney, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Spacey.
