Taking Woodstock

Taking Woodstock. Eldorado. Dir. Ang Lee. This relates to the film ‘Woodstock’ from 1970. The year is 1969 and change is brewing in America.  This is the story of the young Greenwich Village, interior designer who inadvertently helps to start a cultural revolution by offering the Woodstock Festival organizers lodgings at his family's motel.

Elliot Tiber (Demetri Martin) discovers that a concert lost its permit from the nearby town. Emboldened by events Tiber phones producer Michael Lang (Jonathan Groff) at Woodstock and offers boarding to the harried concert crew. Later, as the Woodstock staff start arriving in droves, half a million concert goers make their way to Max Yasgur's (Eugene Levy) adjacent farm in White Lake, NJ. What follows is the counterculture celebration that would ultimately make history as one of the greatest events 20th Century rock & roll.
